Position Summary: We are in search of a knowledgeable Purchasing Manager to enhance our team in Tampa. This role requires a proactive and personable individual to thrive in one of the most rapidly expanding companies within the stone sector.

As a Purchasing Manager, your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the procurement process, identifying suppliers, and managing vendor relationships to ensure a smooth supply chain while optimizing costs. You will work collaboratively with various teams, make informed strategic decisions, and apply best practices within our procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating and executing procurement strategies aimed at cost reduction and improving supply chain efficiency.
  • Assessing and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with ethical and sustainability standards.
  • Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous pricing and payment conditions.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to align procurement activities with organizational objectives.
  • Conducting market research to remain informed about industry trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing changes.
  • Managing supplier relationships through performance evaluations and issue resolution to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and implementing management strategies to balance stock levels effectively.
  • Introducing procurement systems and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Regularly communicating with suppliers to evaluate performance and resolve issues.
  • Analyzing inventory data and demand forecasts to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
  • Continuously improving procurement practices by identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Preparing reports on procurement activities and performance metrics for management review.
  • Establishing procurement metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implementing sustainable sourcing practices that support local suppliers and promote ethical procurement.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in sourcing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing management role.
  • Thorough understanding of procurement principles and best practices.
  • Experience in the Indian market and familiarity with local suppliers.
  • Proficient in budgeting, cost optimization, and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of vendor and inventory management systems.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems.
  • Understanding of local and national procurement regulations.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced and competitive work environment.
