Job Description

HyperLight is a venture-backed startup that has revolutionized the field of photonic integrated circuits. We are seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and experience with laboratory instruments and manufacturing tools. They will be responsible for designing and implementing automated test systems for our photonic integrated circuits, as well as contributing to data pipelines for processing and analyzing measurement results.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement automated test systems for photonic integrated circuits
  • Contribute to data pipelines for processing and analyzing measurement results
  • Develop and improve measurement techniques, data analysis methods, and test procedures
  • Perform wafer and/or chip level measurements on photonic integrated circuits
  • Act as a technical leader and mentor for the measurement team
Requirements
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience or an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments and manufacturing tools
  • Strong software engineering skills for automation of test and measurement equipment
  • Expertise with the Python programming language
  • Expertise with common test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, swept laser systems, source measurement units, parameter analyzers, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and switch matrices
  • Familiarity with statistical data analysis and data pipelines using commercial cloud tool chains
