We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical First Assistant to join our team at UCHealth. As a Surgical First Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Ensure that the operating room is prepared for the surgical procedure, including setting up equipment and supplies.
- Assisting the Surgeon: Provide direct assistance to the surgeon during the procedure, including positioning the patient, retracting tissue, and applying hemostatic agents.
- Wound Closure and Dressing: Assist with closing the wound and applying dressings as needed.
- Post-Operative Care: Provide post-operative care to the patient, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications as needed.
- Certifications: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) by NBSTSA, Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) by NSAA, or Surgical Assistant-Certified (SA-C) by ABSA.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent, and completion of a Surgical Technologist program.
- Experience: None required, but prior experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
- Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Competitive Salary: $54.28 per hour.
