Position Summary
MAXISIQ is in search of a seasoned Cybersecurity Engineer to spearhead Information Assurance (IA) initiatives for Department of Defense (DoD) Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) systems. This role is pivotal as we anticipate an increase in workload.
The Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for offering leadership, guidance, and strategic advice to senior government stakeholders in identifying technical IA requirements. This includes conducting comprehensive cyber risk assessments, performing vulnerability analyses, evaluating mitigation strategies, and ensuring the effective implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to guarantee compliance with DoD and Federal security regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the IA team to fulfill all Authority To Operate (ATO) obligations, which involve executing Information Security Management System policies, processes, and technical controls; conducting security assessments and authorizations (SA&A) for client systems; and ensuring ongoing compliance through regular evaluations or when significant changes occur.
Lead the enhancement of DevSecOps practices by integrating Continuous ATO technical features.
Support the DoDI 8510 Risk Management Framework processes, ensuring successful SA&A for combat and weapon systems, and maintaining up-to-date cybersecurity documentation.
Conduct Oversight and Compliance Verification Assessments, Continuous Monitoring, Contingency Plan Development, Vulnerability Scanning, Auditing, and Security Program Assessment Support.
Evaluate existing IA processes to align with new IT security mandates and propose improvements.
Draft, maintain, and update system accreditation and authorization (A&A) documentation, system security plans, and security control implementation worksheets to support various DoD EMSO systems.
Possess certifications as cybersecurity professionals with the expertise to uphold the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of EMSO systems/platforms.
Experience in hardware and software hardening, testing, and certification services for National Security Systems (NSS) computing platforms and networks is essential.
Compensation:
$150,000 - $160,000 / year
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate Degree from an accredited institution or relevant certifications such as CNSSI 4012, 4013, 4014, 4015, 4016, or NDU CIO certificate, or completion of military training course: NEC 2779.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in Information Assurance Compliance. A CISSP, CISM, GSLC, or CASP certification is mandatory. A current USG issued "SECRET" security clearance (or interim) is required and must be maintained. Candidates must be eligible for a TS clearance.
Certifications: CISSP, CISM, GSLC, or CASP is required; C/EH, Security+, and/or Linux+ are preferred.
Clearance: Minimum secret clearance; eligibility for TOP SECRET Security Clearance is preferred.
