Accounting Clerk Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our team at Johnstone Supply. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting our accounting team by performing various administrative, operational, and clerical functions.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Reconcile cash deposits and ensure accurate financial records
* Review new customer account set-ups and ensure compliance with company policies
* Prepare and issue special invoicing to customers
* Monitor and correct sales tax items for customers
* Learn and promote third-party payment portals
* Process vendor account applications and ensure accurate settings and W-9 information
* Prepare 1099s annually and assist with audit, compliance, and tax return requests
* Assist with lender documentation requests and miscellaneous accounting projects

**Requirements:**

* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* 3 years of experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounts Receivable, or Accounting Clerk
* Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field
* 5 years of related experience
* Experience working in a wholesale or retail environment

**Work Environment:**
