Position Title: Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships
Overview:
Orbitaltx is in search of a seasoned executive in business development to spearhead the identification, assessment, and pursuit of innovative strategic initiatives. This dynamic and driven individual will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for leading transaction efforts while fostering strong relationships with both internal teams and prospective partner organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing Orbitaltx's partnership strategy with an emphasis on developing robust business cases for various in-licensing and out-licensing ventures.
- Overseeing partnership negotiation processes, which include conducting due diligence, drafting and negotiating term sheets, collaborating closely with the legal team on partnership agreements, and gathering insights from diverse internal stakeholders.
- Working in conjunction with internal departments to establish optimal partnership frameworks, engaging with research, finance, intellectual property, legal, and project management teams to advance partnerships and ensure sustained success.
- Building and nurturing significant relationships with senior executives at potential partner organizations.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to other members of the Orbitaltx team regarding the intricacies of the deal-making process.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in business development.
- The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., or MBA) and demonstrate a strong passion for complex scientific discussions.
- Extensive experience in engaging with corporate partners, including the negotiation and finalization of agreements; a proven track record of completed buy-side and sell-side transactions is preferred.
- A comprehensive understanding of due diligence processes, asset valuation, and portfolio management, complemented by strong scientific and business insights.
- Capability to generate and advocate for innovative, high-value concepts.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical, financial modeling, project leadership, oral presentation, and written communication skills.
- Strong influencing skills supported by data and logical reasoning.
- An entrepreneurial mindset characterized by a results-oriented, proactive approach.
