Responsibilities:- Implement curriculum within established guidelines to promote children's cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Nurture children through purposeful programming, building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.
- Supervise children, classroom, and activities, ensuring ADA accommodations where necessary and following all procedures and standards.
- Conduct ongoing, systematic observations of individual children and maintain Developmental Portfolios.
- Cultivate positive relationships with parents, conducting conferences and maintaining effective communication.
- Engage parents/families, connecting them to the YMCA and promoting a sense of community.
- Maintain program site and equipment, as well as required program records.
- Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
- Assist with administrative duties, problem-solving, and family/YMCA communication, ensuring confidentiality of family, children, and staff information.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Preferred to be working toward CDA; Associates or Bachelor's Degree related to Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
- Preferred at least 1 year of experience in child care.
- Ability to relate to children, families, branch staff members, and volunteers.
