Job Summary

Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a skilled Pre-Transplant Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our transplant team, you will play a critical role in facilitating the referral, evaluation, and waiting period phases of transplantation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the interprofessional transplant team to ensure seamless care for pre-transplant patients.
  • Facilitate the evaluation process, including medical, psychosocial, and educational assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient progress and transplant information.
  • Collaborate with the transplant team to identify and address potential problems and abnormalities during the waiting phase.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Four years of nursing experience, with at least three years in Oncology/BMT-specific experience.
  • Previous transplant acute care and/or ICU experience preferred.
  • Current RN licensure in Texas or Compact State licensure within 60 days.
  • BLS certification (AHA).
