Job Title: Pre-Transplant Coordinator

Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Pre-Transplant Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our transplant team, you will play a critical role in coordinating the pre-transplant process, ensuring seamless communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the evaluation process for potential transplant candidates, including medical, psychosocial, and educational assessments.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of candidate progress, including medical, psychosocial, and financial data.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate information exchange.
  • Collaborate with the transplant team to identify and address potential problems, abnormal diagnostic findings, and significant changes during the waiting phase.
  • Ensure compliance with OPTN/UNOS/NMDP/CIBMTR/FACT policies and listing requirements, as well as CMS Conditions of Participation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Four years of nursing experience or three years of Oncology/BMT-specific experience for area of specialty.
  • Previous transplant acute care and/or ICU experience preferred.
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
