Key Responsibilities- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes of conduct and policies, and take action to resolve any compliance questions or concerns.
- Follow the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) guideline to minimize radiation exposure.
- Patient Care
- Use Universal Precautions in all situations to ensure patient safety.
- Utilize proper radiation protection to safeguard patients and staff from excessive radiation.
- Provide patient-centered care, taking into account age-specific needs and preferences.
- Procedure Management
- Obtain accurate medical history and prepare patients for exams.
- Document any changes in patient condition and communicate with Radiology RN or other relevant personnel as needed.
- Prioritize stat procedures and optimize patient flow.
- Communication and Teamwork
- Maintain open communication with Emergency Department Physicians and Staff regarding patient exams, delays, and concerns.
- Collaborate with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Equipment and Documentation
- Operate CT equipment with proficiency and report any deficiencies to the supervisor.
- Accurately document procedures in PACS and patient charts, utilizing required forms and billing procedures.
- ARRT (CT) or CRT certification is required.
- CPR/BLS certification is also required.
- 1-2 years of hospital-based experience is necessary.
