Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Safety
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes of conduct and policies, and take action to resolve any compliance questions or concerns.
    • Follow the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) guideline to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Patient Care
    • Use Universal Precautions in all situations to ensure patient safety.
    • Utilize proper radiation protection to safeguard patients and staff from excessive radiation.
    • Provide patient-centered care, taking into account age-specific needs and preferences.
  • Procedure Management
    • Obtain accurate medical history and prepare patients for exams.
    • Document any changes in patient condition and communicate with Radiology RN or other relevant personnel as needed.
    • Prioritize stat procedures and optimize patient flow.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Maintain open communication with Emergency Department Physicians and Staff regarding patient exams, delays, and concerns.
    • Collaborate with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Equipment and Documentation
    • Operate CT equipment with proficiency and report any deficiencies to the supervisor.
    • Accurately document procedures in PACS and patient charts, utilizing required forms and billing procedures.
Requirements
  • ARRT (CT) or CRT certification is required.
  • CPR/BLS certification is also required.
  • 1-2 years of hospital-based experience is necessary.
