Job Title: Technical Specialist II - Fluent in Indigenous Language

About the Role:

The Human Services Agency is seeking a Technical Specialist II who is fluent in English and an Indigenous language, such as Mixteco, Zapoteco, or Purepecha, to provide language interpretation for clients, conduct community outreach, and support special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person and virtual Indigenous language interpretation for clients regarding sensitive and confidential topics.
  • Conduct community outreach and engagement activities to promote the agency's services and programs.
  • Support special projects and initiatives that aim to improve client services and outcomes.
  • Collect, record, and analyze information necessary for special studies or program areas.
  • Evaluate data, draw conclusions, and prepare recommendations.
  • Conduct interviews with clients or the public to assist with the provision of program services.
  • Provide public contact and communicate information on programs and services.
  • Assemble and maintain accurate records and review information for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and an Indigenous language, such as Mixteco, Zapoteco, or Purepecha.
  • Some experience in community outreach, customer service, interpretation, record maintenance, or administrative assignments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
