Position Overview:

This role serves as a key authority on supplemental health claim management within the employer sector, offering guidance and support to various business functions, channel partners, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in effective communication with claimants, clients, business partners, claims specialists, and senior management.
  • Act as a primary resource for complex claims, interpreting policy provisions across diverse product lines in the employer sector.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of business processes, requirements, data, and market expectations to propose and execute process enhancements.
  • Facilitate tailored processes or reporting based on specific product and client needs.
  • Utilize advanced interpersonal and customer service skills while assisting business partners and clients with high-stakes claims that may involve litigation risks and critical partner retention.
  • Oversee team workload and allocate claims appropriately.
  • Provide training to associates on claims processing, including documentation and mentorship to ensure their success.
  • Conduct quality audits to uphold exceptional work standards.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Benefit Distribution Center (BDC) systems, workflows, and procedures.
  • Outstanding communication abilities.
  • Understanding of BDC data sources and general BDC responsibilities regarding reporting, privacy, security, compliance, and auditing.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to mentor and support less experienced associates.
  • Previous experience in a claims examiner role.

Work Environment:

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Ability to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for up to 8 hours daily.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to engage in phone and/or virtual meetings for 1-4 hours daily.
  • Ability to perform grasping tasks throughout the workday.

Compensation:

The estimated base pay range for this position is $50,000 to $88,500. Pay may vary based on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, and knowledge.
