Position Summary: The Facilities Plumber is responsible for overseeing the daily operations related to plumbing and utility maintenance. This includes planning, material usage, and inspection of plumbing systems to ensure compliance with regulations within the medical facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule the activities of skilled trades personnel for the maintenance and repair of hospital infrastructure.
- Monitor work orders to ensure project completion, ensuring labor and materials are accurately charged.
- Guide staff in safe and effective work methods to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
- Conduct site inspections to verify that work aligns with job specifications.
- Recommend and implement policies and procedures for the plumbing department.
- Estimate necessary equipment parts and materials for assigned tasks.
- Maintain communication with vendors and contractors to facilitate repair and maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work complies with regulatory standards, including those set by the Joint Commission and NFPA.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; college education preferred.
- 3-5 years of plumbing experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and adapt to varying temperature conditions.
- Capable of maneuvering large vehicles and lifting heavy equipment.
- Physical agility to bend and navigate workspaces efficiently.
