Role Summary:
The Certified Scrub Technician is responsible for preparing the surgical environment, ensuring all necessary drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready for use. This role involves maintaining the functionality of surgical tools and equipment.
Key responsibilities include assisting in the preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients.
During surgical procedures, the technician will pass instruments to the surgeon while keeping a meticulous count of instruments and supplies.
Additionally, the technician will handle and process specimens for laboratory delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Certification as a Surgical Technician or completion of an accredited OR Technician program is preferred (mandatory for certified positions).
Membership in the Association of Surgical Technologists, at either national or local levels, is preferred.

AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained thereafter.
