About the Role:

As a Pharmacy Team Lead at Mayo Clinic, you will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of our pharmacy department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the functions of pharmacy technicians, providing technical direction and assisting in organizing workflow.
  • Create schedules and vacation coverage for technicians, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Provide job training, development, and mentoring to technicians, monitoring their progress and making recommendations for annual performance evaluations.
  • Lead technical staff in problem resolution, project management, and quality control/quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles, assessing data reflective of patient status and interpreting information relative to patient needs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • A minimum of two years' pharmacy technician experience required
  • One year prior Mayo Pharmacy Technician II experience preferred
  • Continuing education necessary for maintenance of certification
  • Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology, with ability to read and interpret physician prescriptions/orders
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Compliance with institutional policies and AZ State Board of Pharmacy Scope of Practice guidelines, procedures, and regulations
  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification/licensure by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy
  • Must successfully complete and maintain National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination
