Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate project ideas and work with potential project sponsors to gain support
  • Lead research and provide strategic and tactical advice to senior leaders, including in the Department of Defense
  • Develop new project ideas and gain support from potential sponsors
  • Mentor and develop junior staff members
  • Lead and direct multi-disciplinary teams
  • Set project standards and monitor progress
  • Communicate interim and final results to the RAND community and to policy-making audiences
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Ph.D. or Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant research experience in one of the social or physical sciences or other discipline closely related to the topics outlined above. Experience in gaming, security cooperation, or force development is strongly preferred. A security clearance may be required for some projects, and U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
