Director of Geriatric Resident Care Services Lead

We are currently seeking an experienced professional for the position of Assistant Director of Resident Care Services (LPN License Required).
Job Summary:
- The selected candidate will be responsible for screening and interviewing prospective Resident Care Aides, checking references, and hiring staff according to policies and procedures.
- The successful candidate will supervise all resident care aides, follow disciplinary policies, and complete paperwork and computer data input for the hiring process.
- This role involves using the company Time Management program to schedule proper coverage of the Community, organizing on-call staff, and maintaining an On-Call book.
- The Director of Geriatric Resident Care Services Lead will also coordinate TB skin testing and Hepatitis B vaccinations for all employees, maintain records, and participate in Safety Committee meetings and other relevant gatherings.
- In addition, this role requires implementing and teaching general orientation for all new employees and performing projects and/or tasks as deemed necessary by the Director of Resident Care Services or Administrator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and Staffing: Use the company's time management system to ensure proper staffing levels and adequate coverage.
- Recruitment and Hiring: Screen, interview, and hire qualified Resident Care Aides while adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Staff Supervision: Oversee the work of Resident Care Aides, address performance issues, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Training and Development: Coordinate orientation and training programs for new staff members in collaboration with the Area Directors, Director of Resident Care Services, and Administrator.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by coordinating TB skin testing and Hepatitis B vaccinations for employees.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete paperwork, maintain accurate records, and perform other administrative duties as required.
Requirements:
- Education: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years old.
- Certifications: Hold an active LPN license and have experience in geriatric resident care, healthcare policies, and procedures.
- Supervisory Experience: Possess supervisory experience, with a focus on interpersonal relationship building and attention to detail.
- Personal Qualities: Demonstrate a genuine concern for the welfare of geriatric residents, possess excellent communication skills, and be willing to receive and follow orders.
- Work Environment: Ability to work well with nursing staff, other departments, families, and visitors, while maintaining a kind and respectful demeanor.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using equipment safely, handling supplies economically, and utilizing computer software programs.
