SUMMARY

Evaluate patient functional status and develop rehabilitative treatment programs to restore or improve optimal level of function, independence, and quality of life as a skilled Speech Pathologist.

ATTRIBUTES

  • NYS licensure examination and achievement of NYS license required after completing supervised work experience (completion of CFY) or clinical fellowship under a licensed Speech Pathologist for at least 36 weeks
  • One year experience with frail elderly population preferred
  • Compassionate, warm, and patient-focused approach essential
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills necessary

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluation & Planning: Perform initial evaluations, develop treatment plans, involve patients and staff in implementation, re-evaluate progress, and advance towards maximal performance
  • Documentation: Maintain patient evaluation records, treatment progress, and discharge status; send information to professionals as required
  • Collaboration: Participate in rehabilitation team efforts, including counseling and teaching patients and families, discussing changes in treatment programs, coordinating healthcare plans, and assisting with discharge planning

EDUCATION:

  • MS: Speech Pathology (Required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $66,560.00 - $105,000.00
