Job Title: Loss Control Inspector Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Loss Control Inspector Trainee to join our Engineering Team at the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company.

About the Role:

The Loss Control Inspector Trainee will be responsible for conducting inspections of boilers and pressure vessels, as well as providing engineering services and business solutions to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of commercial equipment and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of boilers and pressure vessels to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Provide engineering services and business solutions to customers to help them avoid losses and recover from losses that occur
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Team to develop and implement risk management strategies
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of services
Requirements:
  • High school diploma and technical working knowledge of commercial equipment
  • Experience operating, maintaining, or inspecting boilers, pressure vessels, and machinery
  • Basic algebra skills and basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to climb vertical ladders and stairs, crawl through confined spaces, and work at heights
  • Visual acuity of 20/20 and ability to identify colors
Preferred Qualifications:
  • National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Commission
  • Technical College Graduate
  • Engineering degree (BSME, BSEE, or BSChE)
