Salary: Night Shift Position

POSITION SUMMARY: As a vital member of the Maintenance team, collaborating closely with Production Supervisors, Operators, and the Quality Assurance team, the Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that production equipment operates at peak performance. This position is essential for addressing and resolving urgent equipment failures that halt production. The primary focus is on enhancing machine reliability to meet production goals, ensuring product quality, maintaining safe operational practices, and upholding facility standards for food safety and security.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose and rectify equipment malfunctions, often under high-pressure conditions.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance as scheduled.
  • Install and configure both new and refurbished machinery.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams to determine work methods for assembling, disassembling, and overhauling machinery.
  • Fabricate components as needed, including cutting, welding, and machining, to enhance or customize production equipment repairs.
  • Follow detailed work orders and directives from the team lead or Maintenance Manager, ensuring accurate documentation of all tasks performed.
  • Request necessary parts and materials for repairs in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations and other safety standards regarding equipment safety and machine safeguarding.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to the Maintenance Supervisor to support operational efficiency and facilitate effective shift handovers.
  • Organize work effectively to minimize downtime through efficient time management.
  • Complete shift documentation with precision and comply with daily operational standards.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines.
  • Adhere to all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure personal and co-worker safety at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned work areas and adjacent spaces.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or food production setting is preferred; experience in self-directed work teams is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission, and electrical systems.
  • Experience operating forklifts and elevated platforms is necessary.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic are essential.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate sound judgment under pressure.
  • Must provide personal tools.
  • Ability to understand and communicate instructions in English is required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position may involve repetitive movements, bending, and twisting, with exposure to sustained noise levels and high temperatures.
  • May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) due to potential hazards such as machinery and slippery surfaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Work may occur in environments with allergens such as nuts, dairy, and grains.
  • Availability for all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is necessary, with occasional overtime required.
  • Weekend and holiday work will be mandatory, with rotating responsibilities for emergency repairs and maintenance activities.
