Key Responsibilities: As a Bakery Clerk, your main duties will include:
  • Assisting the Bakery Manager with the preparation, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising of all bakery items.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service while ensuring that all bakery products are prepared, packaged, and displayed with care, maintaining a clean and organized bakery area.
  • Upholding cleanliness and safety standards in the bakery, including regular cleaning of shelves, equipment, and floors.
  • Managing inventory by stocking, filling, and ensuring accurate pricing while monitoring the freshness of bakery products and discarding any outdated items.
  • Receiving and inspecting shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality.

Qualifications: To qualify for the Bakery Clerk position at Sprouts Farmers Market, candidates should:
  • Be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with 1-2 years of bakery experience or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrate reliability and flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exhibit a friendly demeanor and a positive attitude, with strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers.
  • Have effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Be capable of taking phone orders and managing special requests.
  • Perform general cleaning and sanitation duties in the bakery area.
  • Operate bakery equipment safely, including knives, scales, and hand trucks, while accurately weighing and labeling products.
  • Be prepared to stand for extended periods and lift items as needed, adhering to safety and health regulations.
