Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is in search of a Systems Engineering Specialist. The Air Dominance team is at the forefront of developing some of the most advanced and technically challenging defense platforms and mission capabilities in the industry.

The region is vibrant and expanding as we support various new product development initiatives.
Our teams are actively recruiting for a wide range of experience levels, including Associate, Experienced, or Senior positions.

As a key member of the BDS program, you will employ an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify a lifecycle-balanced system of systems and system solutions.

Your role will involve assessing customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrating technical parameters, and ensuring compatibility across all physical, functional, and program interfaces.

Engage in all facets of Systems Engineering throughout the complete program lifecycle (concept definition, design, testing, and production), utilizing both traditional and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies.

Assist in the formulation of high-level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, followed by analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation.

Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to meet system and customer requirements.

Leverage Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as DOORS, Cameo, and mathematical modeling and simulation to create system definitions/architectures and conduct trade studies.

Collaborate with subject matter experts and technology specialists to execute the systems engineering statement of work.
Security Clearance:
Security Clearance is required for this position (an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is necessary).

A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science is required.

~2+ years of relevant engineering experience is preferred.


Experience in applying engineering processes and principles is essential.

Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is necessary.

Experience with the implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules, and metrics is also required.

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.,
Level 3:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master + 3 years of related work experience). Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD + 4 years of related work experience, Master + 7 years of related work experience).
