Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is on the lookout for Systems Engineers for Transitioning U.S. Servicemembers to contribute to various programs in the St. Louis, Missouri area . The Air Dominance division is at the forefront of developing some of the most advanced and technically challenging defense systems and mission capabilities in the sector. This region is vibrant and expanding as we support numerous new product development initiatives.

We are currently seeking candidates across a wide range of experience levels, including Associate, Experienced, or Senior .

As a vital member of the BDS program, you will employ a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to plan, design, develop, and verify a lifecycle-balanced system of systems and solutions. Your role will involve assessing customer and operational requirements to define and coordinate system performance criteria, integrating technical parameters, and ensuring compatibility across all physical, functional, and program interfaces. Expect to conduct a diverse array of analyses to define and optimize the overall system design and architecture, ensuring mission success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all facets of Systems Engineering throughout the complete program lifecycle (concept definition, design, testing, and production), utilizing both traditional and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • Aid in defining high-level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, followed by analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural components, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation.
  • Support risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to meet system/customer specifications.
  • Employ Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as DOORS, Cameo, and mathematical modeling and simulation to create system definitions/architectures and conduct trade studies.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and technology specialists to fulfill the systems engineering statement of work.
  • Programs supported may include, but are not limited to: F/A-18 Super Hornet, F-15 Eagle, F-22 Raptor, T-7A Red Hawk, MQ-25 Stingray, MQ-28 Ghost Bat & EA-18G Growler.

Onsite Requirement:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work at one of the designated location options.

Separation of Service:

This position is eligible for the Boeing 12 Month U.S. Veteran Job Offer. Employment offers can be extended up to 12 months prior to separation from military service. If an offer is made, it is contingent upon the candidate's separation from military service. The selected individual must provide their Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214) within 12 months from the date of the offer or prior to an official start date, whichever occurs first.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which necessitates U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in applying engineering processes and principles.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience in modeling or simulating systems.
  • Knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation.
  • Experience with product/systems development and integration.
  • Experience with the implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules, and metrics (i.e., DOORs, CAMEO, Earned value management).
  • Technical system domain knowledge (e.g., air vehicle).
  • Current Department of Defense Security Clearance.

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., Master). Level 3:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 4:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
