About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at ABB. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for executing service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality customer service by planning and executing service work as per customer order and expectation.
  • Showcase expertise by ensuring customer retention through effective communication of service work timeline and expectations.
  • Work with customers to identify opportunities to improve their operations and eliminate pain points.
  • Perform field service tasks, identify technical issues, and perform analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which you are certified to perform.
  • Prepare material lists needed for service activity and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Act as a trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED and 12+ years of technical work experience required OR Associate's Degree in a related field required and 10+ years of related experience.
  • Understanding of AC and DC drive systems.
  • Experience performing field service technician work for AC and DC coordinated drive systems; and using test equipment including Oscilloscopes, Data Loggers, PDMA motor testing, and CMC measurements.
  • Work with ABB 800xA is a plus.
  • A combination of education and experience must be demonstrated in the AC drives area.
  • Must be available 24/7 based upon business necessity. Up to 80% travel required.
  • Ability to write detailed technical field service reports.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
  • Comply with ABB and customer safety requirements. Complete all designated safety training on time.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
