Job Title: Vice President, Head of Global Tax

Fortrea is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President, Head of Global Tax to lead our Global Tax function for our newly spun-out public company. The successful candidate will provide US and international tax planning and strategic tax leadership, working closely with our CFO and other senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement global tax strategy in collaboration with the CFO and other senior leaders
  • Oversee the US and international tax provision process, including compliance with ASC-740
  • Manage domestic and international income tax compliance, documentation, and reporting functions
  • Research, evaluate, and develop tax strategies to optimize effective tax rates
  • Research, analyze, and interpret global tax laws and principles
  • Identify US and international tax issues and their potential impact on the company
  • Oversee U.S. sales, property, and other indirect tax planning compliance and reporting
  • Prepare and present board-level and C-level presentations as needed
  • Work closely with senior leaders in finance, divisions, and functional departments
  • Manage relationships with Tax authorities, compliance providers, and external advisors
Requirements:
  • Master of Science or Master of Business Administration (with concentration in Taxation) and a CPA
  • Extensive experience in US and/or international income tax
  • Previous experience leading a US Headquartered public company's tax department or significant public company experience in a corporate tax environment
  • Proven experience leading and building high-performing teams
  • Experience working with services tax vs. product tax (e.g., transfer pricing)
  • Extensive US Federal, State & International income tax, and transaction tax knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Track record as a trusted advisor and business partner
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with an outsourced tax model
