Key Responsibilities- Risk Assessment and Mitigation
Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies to minimize operational disruptions.
Compliance and Regulatory AffairsEnsure compliance with relevant regulatory agencies, including the Joint Commission, OSHA, and state and local authorities.
Emergency Preparedness and ResponseOversee the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors.
Workplace Violence PreventionDevelop and implement strategies to prevent workplace violence and ensure a safe working environment.
Security OperationsSupervise and manage security personnel to ensure the effective operation of security services.
Vendor ManagementOversee the management of security-related vendors to ensure they meet our contracted responsibilities.
Training and DevelopmentProvide training and development opportunities for security personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Collaboration and CommunicationCollaborate with hospital leadership, facilities, risk management, and other departments to develop integrated security strategies and policies.
Leadership and SupervisionDirectly supervise security managers and supervisors to ensure the effective operation of security services.
Community RelationsDevelop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in security or law enforcement, with 12 years of supervisory experience.
- An associate's degree in a related field or a high school diploma with 15 years of supervisory experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
- Competency in various business software programs, including Microsoft Office and data analytical tools.
- Experience in MS Office Suite, particularly spreadsheet development, database, Word, and PowerPoint reporting.
- Familiarity with International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) accepted training standards.
- Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
