Job Summary:

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in our Neurology Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider. Your responsibilities will include performing routine patient care tasks, such as vital signs, wound care, and medication administration, while following established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform nursing care functions, including vital signs, wound care, and medication administration, as directed by the licensed provider.
  • Assist with patient examinations and treatments, positioning and restraining patients as needed.
  • Prepare and transport medical equipment and laboratory specimens.
  • Maintain departmental files, including pulling files and assembling forms prior to appointments.
  • Initiate and complete diagnostic test forms, telephone prescriptions to pharmacies, and relay medical information between physicians and patients.
  • Chart patient medical records as indicated.
  • Perform lab tests, including urine dip-tests, acetone tests, and hemoccult tests.
  • Participate in Department Quality Assurance activities.
Requirements:
  • Vocational Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support
  • Ability to work effectively with the public
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique
  • Consistently demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service
Notes:

This is a temporary position for approximately three (3) months. Schedule work hours per week will be 20-32.
