What You'll Do:

As a cashier, you will be the face of our company. You will be responsible for providing legendary customer service, processing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that each customer receives exceptional customer service by providing a friendly and welcoming environment, including greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, and providing product knowledge.
  • Maintaining an awareness of all product information, including merchandise promotions, new products, and advertisements.
  • Assisting in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and store housekeeping.
  • Assisting in processing and replenishing merchandise, participating in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and practices, including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
  • Accurately and efficiently completing all sales transactions and maintaining proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers.
  • Communicating customer requests to management.
  • Accurately maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
  • Accurately operating the inventory system for price checking and item look-ups.
  • Making change, taking checks, running credit/debit cards, and issuing receipts to customers.
  • Reading and recording totals shown on cash register tape and verifying against cash on hand.
  • Giving cash refunds or issuing credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise according to Country Supplier's refund policies.
  • Operating cash register by passing price-coded items across electronic scanner to record price, compile printed list, and display cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates on monitor screen.
  • All cashiers are required to watch Country Supplier's safety videos and perform their duties in accordance with safety training.
  • Answering all incoming phone calls and forwarding them to the appropriate personnel in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assisting in the training of other associates or new employees.

Qualifications:

Cashiers are required to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally engaging in assisted lifting over 25 pounds. Any lifting over 25 pounds requires the help of a hand truck and assistance from a second employee. Employees must be able to understand and communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing. Ability to push, pull, and lift materials weighing up to 50lbs.
