Custodian Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian I to join our team at Texas Woman's University. As a Custodian I, you will be responsible for performing manual work involving the cleaning and care of buildings and facilities. This includes cleaning, sanitizing, and related custodial maintenance of apartments, lounges, offices, bathrooms, classrooms, and other areas, requiring continuous physical activity.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain floors, hallways, and stairways.
- Clean and dust furniture, windows, fixtures, and other features.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
- Measure and mix cleaning solutions.
- Strip, wax, and polish floors.
- Moves and cleans under small furnishings.
- Operate vacuum cleaners and buffers.
- Empty trash containers, clean trash rooms, and deposit trash for pick-up.
Additional Duties:
- Assist with unloading and distribution of supplies and materials.
- Monitor and requisition supplies and materials.
- Report needed repairs and property damage.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements:
- Completion of the tenth grade preferred.
- Some related experience preferred.
Working Conditions:

May be required to work in conditions including cold, heat, temperature swings, noise, outdoors and indoors, around mechanical, electrical, fume/odor, dust/mites, chemical and toxic waste hazards. May be required to work in locations that involve hazardous environments requiring protective equipment that conforms to OSHA regulations and some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust and noise.
