Responsibilities
The Patient Care Technician is a multi-skilled, non-licensed healthcare provider who provides direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse. Key responsibilities include operating medical equipment, performing basic EKGs, and providing nursing care and duties delegated by registered nurses.
Qualifications
For PCT I, students ages 16 and 17 can be employed with parental consent as part of the High School Health Career Program. A high school graduate or equivalent is required, along with BLS certification within 30 days of hire. For PCT II, a certified nursing assistant program graduate with current TN license or certified patient care technician or certified medical assistant with active certification is required, along with BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
Pay Range
$17.00 - $22.92 /hour
