About the Role

Catholic Health Initiatives is seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various medical equipment, including computerized vital sign machines, O2 saturation glucose meters, and patient care equipment.
  • Perform basic EKG form monitoring and operation of the machine, recognizing life-threatening dysrhythmias and providing subsequent care when necessary.
  • Provide nursing care and duties delegated by registered nurses.
  • Administer venipuncture and discontinue INTs.
  • Perform 12-lead EKGs, as required by the area or location.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent, with a current State Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or a current State License as an EMT-Advanced or EMT-Paramedic.
  • One year of hospital patient care experience, with a minimum of six months experience with cardiac/medical patients.
