Job Overview:
The Fleet Maintenance Specialist is responsible for diagnosing issues and performing routine maintenance on trucks and trailers, as well as similar equipment utilized in cargo transportation. This role is crucial in ensuring that Haul USA's fleet operates efficiently and meets customer satisfaction standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on machinery and equipment in compliance with DOT and company standards.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks following company protocols and procedures.
  • Inspect components for defects, including breakage or excessive wear.
  • Collaborate with drivers and equipment operators to identify the root causes of malfunctions.
  • Observe, test, and assess machinery and equipment performance to diagnose issues, disassemble equipment for repairs, and replace or adjust parts as necessary.
  • Perform welding to fix broken metal components, fabricate new parts, and assemble new machinery.
  • Repair and replace electrical wiring and machinery components, programming computer-controlled equipment as needed.
  • Order necessary parts and materials for repairs.
  • Be available on-call to assist with operational needs in the event of equipment failures.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least three years of documented experience in repairing Class A equipment.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with DOT preventive maintenance inspections and brake inspections on trucks.
  • A valid Driver's License is mandatory; a CDL is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand a limited number of two to three syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers.
  • Proficient in performing operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Capable of basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Aptitude for solving practical problems and handling various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret diverse instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
