Position Overview:
Saint Mary's University is seeking a dedicated Residential Life Coordinator.

This full-time, on-campus role is responsible for overseeing multiple residential facilities accommodating approximately 150 to 250 students.

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in cultivating a supportive, student-focused environment that prioritizes the overall well-being of residents, ensuring a welcoming and engaging living experience.

Key responsibilities include evaluating student needs, guiding and supervising undergraduate staff, conducting investigations, mentoring, managing hall operations, and fulfilling various administrative tasks.


Core Responsibilities:
Manage a residential area comprising 2-3 halls with a resident population of 150 to 250 students.

Supervise and mentor a team of 5-9 resident assistants.


Address student concerns related to conduct, provide counseling, and manage crisis situations within the residence area, including investigating incidents and preparing necessary documentation.

Foster community development within the residence halls that caters to the academic, spiritual, social, and physical needs of residents.

Collaborate with the Student Affairs office to enhance departmental programs and services that address ongoing student requirements.

Advise a student committee on matters related to community service, training, social events, and other relevant topics.

Coordinate regular duty night coverage for the residence area.

Oversee general facility management and maintenance, including handling maintenance requests and ensuring cleanliness and order within the halls.

Engage in the student community by sharing meals in the dining hall during the academic year.

Participate in the all-campus duty coverage rotation.

Assist in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of resident assistants and professional staff.


Perform additional administrative tasks and assignments as directed by the dean of students or the vice president for student affairs, which may include departmental, divisional, and university meetings, training programs, required residence life meetings, judicial affairs, early alerts, professional development, programming, and housing.

This position requires living and dining on campus.

Experience and Education:
A bachelor's degree is required.

Previous experience in residence life or student affairs is preferred.

A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a criminal background check are necessary.

Other acceptable combinations of training and experience may be considered.
