Job Summary

This role is responsible for processing all incoming applicant records and associated documentation. In addition, they make admissions decisions while being a consistent steward of data integrity and maintaining confidentiality regarding all applicant information. Admissions Specialists will provide support in designing, developing, testing, and documenting admission practices which utilize technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the pipeline and application processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Processing: Process all incoming applications for admission, including data downloads, data entry, validating the accuracy and integrity of the data entered, maintaining workflow of materials, and updating records as necessary.
  • Admissions Decisions: Review applications to make admissions decisions, process transcripts, test scores, and other pertinent materials to determine admissibility based on established criteria by program.
  • Communication: Correspond with applicants, students, and staff as needed to follow-up on processing needs, provide a superior level of customer service with prospective students as well as internal constituents, and manage and execute all application-related communications.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other units across campus, such as Enrollment Services, Academic Affairs, and Student Support divisions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of policies, processes, and procedures for specific position, assist with onboarding new staff, and provide admissions-related training to other staff across campus.
  • International Admissions: In collaboration with WCTC's Designated School Official (DSO), collect, process, and admit international applicants, maintain international student records, including confidential records such as financial statements.
  • FERPA Compliance: Understand and comply with FERPA regulations related to the disclosure of student record information.
  • Enrollment Processes: Provide information and facilitate enrollment processes at special events and activities.
  • Technology Assessment: In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Admissions, test and assess technology solutions used in the admissions office, work to align effective technology solutions with appropriate business strategies to meet enrollment goals.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree.
  • Experience: One year of experience in higher education, preferably with knowledge of enrollment services.
