Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished academic leader to serve as the Faculty Director for our Healthcare Management program. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the program's academic and administrative efforts, ensuring its continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach 6-12 credit hours (3 – 6 classes) per year within the program, and work with academic unit heads and faculty to update course content, promote teaching excellence, and maintain assurance of learning information.
  • Program Leadership: Work with academic unit heads and program director to determine faculty assignments, identify and recruit instructors to address gaps in teaching, and provide guidance and academic/career support to current and prospective students.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop a strategic plan addressing enrollment targets and partnership development (e.g., with hospitals) in service of increasing enrollment and brand awareness, and conduct outreach and build a network of healthcare professionals to support the program and its students.
  • Advisory Board Oversight: Oversee the Advisory Board, including identification of Board members, strategic direction, and facilitation of Advisory Board meetings, and communicating regularly with the Board on matters relevant to the program and the healthcare profession.
  • Marketing and Recruitment: Provide guidance and oversight to the OPM partner on marketing and recruiting efforts, and participate in conferences to enhance student recruitment efforts and elevate the program's reputation.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate with the Broad College of Business Executive Education team to establish specialized programs or corporate training initiatives, and work effectively with the program director to evaluate prospective student applications, to ensure student success, and to guide overall program success.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates to the Dean of the Broad College, and work collaboratively with Broad/MSU stakeholders to provide regular updates on the program.
Requirements
  • Education: Doctorate - Healthcare-related, Business or other related field (PhD or other terminal degree in healthcare-related, business, or other related field for Assistant/Associate/Professor roles).
  • Experience: Significant work experience in healthcare, business, or a related field, along with an extensive network within the healthcare industry, showcasing a robust understanding of industry trends.
  • Leadership Skills: Forward-thinking leadership skills, capable of driving both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives to ensure the continued success and growth of the program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Terminal Degree: Candidates with a terminal degree in a relevant field are preferred.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years of work experience in healthcare, business, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Online Course Delivery: Prior experience delivering online courses to adult learners in a professional setting is also a strong asset.
