About the Role:
The Dental Director will serve as the onsite manager of the Dental Department, overseeing the day-to-day operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dental care to our patients. This is a leadership role that requires strong supervisory and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Back up the Chief Dental Officer and work with the Manager of Dental Operations to ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the dental clinic.
Provide care in various disciplines of an advanced general dental practice, including diagnosis, preventive dentistry, operative dentistry, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, removable prosthodontics, endodontics, fixed, oral surgery, and implantology.
Work in a leadership team with dentists, manager of Dental Operations, and hygienists to assure quality in-house clinical dental training of staff.
Expected to provide continuity of leadership in the absence of the dental director and participate in all aspects of current dental director duties.
Aid the Dental Director in evaluating clinical performance of professional and auxiliary dental staff and work in a team with the manager of Dental Operations to provide consistent supervisory guidance to staff.
Assist the Dental Director in attaining grant goals by ensuring deliverables are met and assist in HRSA grant applications.
Act as a representative of MarillacHealth with local dentists and their staffs, dental laboratories, service clubs and organizations, patients, and the public, acting in a professional and responsible manner.
Assist associates with corrective actions identified during performance reviews and help the Dental Director establish realistic and attainable goals.
Assist in the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of personnel.
Develop associate knowledge and ability to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities.
Help revise job duties for associates as required.
Assist the QI department in all HRSA requirements.
Comply with all OSHA, HIPAA, and BLS policies and procedures at MarillacHealth.
Perform other related job duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
Five years of experience as a dentist, with advanced education in general practice residency completed beyond dental school.
Current Colorado Dentist License, DEA registration, and BLS certification.
Competencies:
Successful demonstration of supervisory and leadership skills.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Dental EMR.
