Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Southwest NICU Nights team. This position requires expertise in administering advanced therapeutic procedures, including ventilator management, arterial blood gases, and trauma care. As a key member of our critical care team, you will provide high-quality patient care, educate colleagues, and contribute to departmental operations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medical gases, medications, and aerosols for therapeutic purposes
  • Evaluate treatment provided and take appropriate action
  • Perform patient assessment, basic interpretation of arterial blood gases, pulmonary function testing, and chest x-rays as indicated
  • Provide expert respiratory advice and recommendations to physicians and staff
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, manage time efficiently, and document accurately
  • Remain current in respiratory care through continuing education and participation in services
  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency
  • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences

Qualifications and Skills

  • RRT certification or eligibility required
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner License or Temporary Respiratory Care Practitioner License
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of critical care experience; ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPFT, RPFT, RPSGT certifications a plus
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods
