Associate Professor of Architecture

The University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor to serve as the Director of the Graduate Program in the Department of Architecture. This is a full-time, tenure-track position with a focus on academic leadership and administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a clear curricular vision for the M.Arch Program in collaboration with the Department Chair and faculty.
- Oversee and coordinate the implementation of curricular objectives as determined by the faculty.
- Lead the curriculum assessment process in the M.Arch Program for the University and the NAAB.
- Work with the Department Chair, Undergraduate Program Director, and Administrative Executive to ensure timely and smooth operations in the M.Arch Program.
- Assist the Chair in identifying and recruiting diverse part-time faculty members from the practice community to teach in the Graduate Program.
- Assist the Chair in the administration of the Department, including coordination with the Graduate Student Advisor, Graduate Student Representative, and College Staff.
- Oversee the annual NAAB statistical report and catalog updates.
- Coordinate Final Reviews, manage TA requests, mentor student organizations, and run summer teaching workshops for part-time and new faculty in the Graduate program.
- A terminal degree in Architecture (M.Arch) or equivalent.
- Faculty rank of Associate Professor or equivalent.
- Ability to offer instruction in design studio and large lecture courses in area of expertise at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in Architecture or related field, Architectural Licensure, and recognized excellence in higher education.
The Department of Architecture delivers a four-year pre-professional program (BS Arch) and a NAAB fully accredited Master of Architecture (M.Arch) for first professional degree students who hold either a non-preprofessional or pre-professional bachelor's degree.
