Certified Peer Specialist

View Point Health is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist - Parent Support Specialist to provide support to families whose youth ages 6-21 have complex mental health needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the recovery journey and be able to assist youth, young adults, and families in gaining skills to promote their recovery.
Key Responsibilities- Assist youth, young adults, and families in gaining skills to promote their recovery journey, including self-advocacy, problem-solving, goal setting, and coping skills.
- Provide crisis support and help individuals in community meetings.
- Support individuals in understanding various system processes and how they relate to the recovery process.
- Help identify natural supports and access supports that maintain youth and young adults in the least restrictive setting possible.
- Support families in identifying and accessing basic and other family resource needs.
- Help youth, young adults, and families envision and achieve a meaningful and purposeful life by identifying and building on their strengths and addressing their concerns, needs, and opportunities.
- Encourage the importance of self-care and address the need to maintain whole health and wellness.
- Draw upon their own experience to help youth, young adults, and families find and maintain hope as a tool for progress towards recovery.
High School diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience in a social services-related position; or One (1) year of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Tech 2 (SST011) or equivalent position.
