Job Title: Benefits Specialist

At Home, we are seeking a highly skilled Benefits Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Total Rewards department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective administration of our benefit plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day benefits operations, including vendor communications, data issue resolution, and invoice processing.
  • Assist with new hire orientations and administer the tuition reimbursement program.
  • Administer the 401(k) savings plan, including weekly deferrals, loan changes, annual audits, and 5500 filings.
  • Organize annual open enrollment and ensure system and communication accuracy.
  • Collaborate with benefits vendors and brokers to ensure benefits plans operate as designed.
  • Engage in regular meetings with brokers and carriers to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Maintain and update benefits processes and documentation.
  • Assist with the development and communication of Wellness programs.
  • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assist with the review and completion of benefits agreements.
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • At least 2 years of benefits administration experience, either in HR or another discipline.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR management, business, or a related subject area (a plus).
  • Understanding of HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, Internal Revenue Codes, and other statutes governing employer-sponsored benefit plans.
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to quickly absorb and learn new concepts and software programs.
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Team player with the ability to work with and communicate well to all levels of the organization and across functions.
