Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team at Novatae Risk Group. As an Insurance Underwriter, you will be responsible for reviewing applications, renewals, and endorsement requests, gathering necessary information, and making decisions regarding risk acceptability within granted limits of authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to routine inquiries from agents regarding quotes, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and other inquiries.
  • Review applications, renewals, and endorsement requests, gathering necessary information and making decisions regarding risk acceptability within granted limits of authority.
  • Process submissions by applying internal guidelines and meeting required turnaround times.
  • Compile, sort, and verify information received for completeness.
  • Apply the appropriate operating procedures for each task as well as department guidelines and expectations.
  • Monitor submission status and follow-up on outstanding documents.
  • Rate and issue renewal quotes.
  • Attend team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Property & Casualty license is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous P&C wholesale insurance experience or Carrier.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office and agency management software.
  • Knowledge of commercial lines insurance coverage, products, markets, rating, and underwriting procedures is essential.
Qualifications
  • Manages client service needs including endorsement requests, proofs of insurance, cancellation requests, inspection questions, client/carrier correspondence, coverage analysis recommendations, and claim reporting.
  • Interacts with clients (in person, via telephone, or E-Mail) to discuss needs and assure satisfaction, respond to inquiries, solicit sales, and solve client problems.
  • Processes renewals following agency procedures.
  • Remarkets accounts identified for renewal marketing following agency procedures.
  • Provides quotes to existing clients for additional lines of business as needed.
  • Processes all account transactions as needed assuring that all items are handled in a timely manner, are accurate and reflect the established agency procedures.
  • Follows agency credit and collection procedures in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments.
  • Manages cancellation processes according to agency standards, addressing both carrier and client requests as received.
