About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at Liberty Mutual Insurance. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in the growth and profitability of assigned E&S Property accounts through marketing, underwriting, and managing of products and services of complex risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with brokers and insureds to facilitate the marketing of Liberty Mutual E&S products and services.
  • Make independent sales calls to market and cross-market Liberty Mutual's products and services.
  • Review and negotiate policy terms and conditions, including manuscript wording.
  • Underwrite targeted new and renewal business by reviewing and analyzing insured's (or prospective insured's) loss history, financials, and other pertinent information.
  • Make independent marketing calls to brokers and prospective insureds.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing plans, product analysis, services, geographic focus, and broker intelligence.
  • Communicate with other product line underwriters and claims analysts to provide top-level customer service.
  • Assist other members of the department, including Underwriters and Associate Underwriters, in product line and/or technical knowledge and development.
  • Perform related duties as requested, including report preparation, presentations, and special projects to ensure the success of the product line unit.

Requirements

  • Advanced-level knowledge of insurance products/coverage, underwriting, pricing, risk selection, market segments, and marketplace.
  • Ability to apply underwriting/appetite, tools, systems, and resources to achieve goals, solve complex problems, establish and build healthy working relationships, lead mentoring relationships, and negotiate.
