Job Summary

Precision Castparts Corp is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Co-Op to join our team. As an EHS Co-Op, you will work closely with our EHS Manager to assist with various EHS-related tasks and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply EHS Principles: Assist in implementing process improvements, product design, and other EHS-related initiatives to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Work with Production Team: Collaborate with production hourly workforce to address day-to-day safety concerns and develop solutions to improve workplace safety.
  • Material Handling and Waste Management: Develop and improve material handling issues throughout the facility, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
  • Vendor and Consultant Management: Work with outside vendors and consultants to eliminate injuries and improve overall EHS performance.
  • Accident Investigation and Corrective Actions: Investigate all facility accidents and injuries to develop corrective actions and prevent future incidents.
  • Inspections and Training: Assist in conducting periodic inspections for hazardous waste, chemical use, and PPE use, and participate in training sessions to enhance EHS knowledge and skills.
  • Job Risk Analysis and New Hire Training: Perform job risk analysis for various processes and tasks, and assist in developing and delivering new hire safety training and orientation.
Qualifications
  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in EHS or a related engineering field.
  • Preferred Skills: Knowledge of EHS engineering practices, IH sampling, regulatory compliance for OSHA, EPA, Hazardous Waste, and NFPA.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Soft Skills: Good writing skills and interpersonal skills.
