Job Title: Access Information Coordinator
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Access Information Coordinator to join our team at West Tennessee Healthcare. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and clerical support for the department, including report creation and maintenance of various computer/software systems used. They will assist in evaluation, testing, and training of computer-related Enterprise-wide and other applications/functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the creation, testing, training, and oversight/maintenance of specific departmental computer applications, assuming a lead role when necessary.
- Develop and maintain monthly data packets for department managers and Patient Financial Services administration, utilizing various Revenue Cycle and Patient Financial Services metrics.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for department users for system maintenance needs.
- Analyze problems with computer-based information systems, collaborate with software vendors and customers to resolve issues, and maintain spreadsheets and reports.
- Assist in time and attendance tasks, maintain records of absenteeism, tardiness, FMLA events, and other personnel accounts, and report items needing attention to management.
- Initiate and handle personnel-related documentation and paperwork, maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Understand and remain current with basic departmental admitting/registration/access processes.
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and staff as needed for various meetings, handle associated paperwork and contacts, and monitor overall ordering needs for cost centers.
- Assume other duties related to departmental areas, as requested.
- Prioritize tasks and workload in the most effective, efficient, and positive manner.
- Contribute to a positive work climate and overall team effort of the department.
- Demonstrate understanding and support of our hospital's Mission, Culture, and Vision statements.
- Utilize positive communication skills in all aspects of the job.
- Take personal accountability for professional growth and development.
Requirements:
- High school graduation with a Bachelor's degree in computer or a related field preferred.
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with other personnel, physicians, vendors, patients, and their families.
- Previous experience in patient financial services is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of hospital or customer service/technical experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to plan, manage, monitor, and evaluate the flow of electronic information.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software.
- Skills and proficiency in the principles and techniques of computers, with the ability to problem-solve technical difficulties with computer systems/technology.
- Extensive computer knowledge in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to type 45 words per minute with accuracy, use a calculator, personal computer, and other routine office machinery.
- Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and workload effectively.
- Adaptability to change.
