This role requires flexibility in scheduling, accommodating early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary to fulfill the demands of the event catering business.

Adhere to the company uniform policy, including appropriate footwear and safety gear as required. Demonstrate the ability to efficiently prepare food items in a high-volume kitchen setting.

Must obtain a valid Food Handler card within 30 days of employment or provide proof of an existing card.



Essential Duties

- Prepare food items for events and banquets, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards.

- Follow food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local health regulations for food preparation and storage.

- Assist in menu planning and accommodate special dietary needs.

- Ensure timely preparation of all food items, meeting event timelines while maintaining the highest quality standards.

- Collaborate with the kitchen team to uphold exceptional food quality and consistency.

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including equipment and storage areas.

- Support the kitchen team during peak times, including food plating and presentation.

- Follow directives from the head chef and kitchen supervisors, providing constructive feedback to enhance kitchen operations.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food preparation, preferably in a banquet or event setting. Knowledge of cooking techniques and presentation styles is advantageous.

Skills and Knowledge

- Proficient knowledge of food products and cooking techniques.

- Familiarity with the preparation of various proteins and sauces.

- Understanding of safe food handling practices and kitchen equipment usage.

- Ability to multitask and prepare high-quality meals under pressure.

- Capable of planning and preparing for events, including menu development.

- Proficient in knife skills and recipe interpretation.

- Ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to safety standards in the kitchen.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Team-oriented, with the ability to follow instructions and contribute to a collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

- Capable of performing repetitive motions such as chopping and stirring.

- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Good hearing and vision capabilities to perform job functions effectively.

- Ability to navigate stairs as needed.
