Job Summary:The Design Engineer is responsible for working with department managers and engineers to create concepts and designs for new systems and components, as well as production process improvements, new tooling, and fixtures.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop new CAD models and update existing ones
- Create 2D and 3D models
- Work with SAP - material setup, BOM, routings, etc.
- Apply internal practices and processes along with industry standards (ANSI, ASME, etc.)
- Provide design solutions that are mindful of form, fit, function, cost, and manufacturability
- Collaborate with engineers and other departments on projects
- Update existing drawings and documents packages
- Help maintain bill of materials, material setup, drawings, and other controlled documents and packages
- Manage change management system (such as ECN's)
- Associates degree from a two-year college required, bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to apply principles of math, logic, or science thinking to a wide variety of intellectual and practical problems
- Ability to effectively read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- Must be able to understand blueprint information
- Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
