KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role involves conducting research for a project sponsored by the Department of Energy under the ARPA-E ROSIE initiative aimed at reducing carbon emissions in iron production. The main responsibilities include achieving project milestones, which may encompass tasks related to prototype development, material analysis, electrochemical studies, experimental work, simulation, and data interpretation. Furthermore, the position requires collaboration with team members, establishing research timelines, managing budgets, and coordinating meetings.

ABOUT THE OFFICE OF POSTDOCTORAL AFFAIRS (OPA)

The mission of the UNLV Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) is to enrich and support postdoctoral training and career advancement; act as the primary resource for postdoctoral inquiries and concerns for faculty, supervisors, mentors, and both prospective and current postdocs; foster a community for all UNLV postdoctoral scholars; and offer professional development programs and networking opportunities.

UNLV currently hosts postdoctoral scholars across various fields.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must possess a PhD from an accredited institution recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Applicants should have a background in design and fabrication, along with experience in conducting experiments to evaluate performance or analyze materials.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

The salary range for this position is $42,800 - $75,000, or commensurate with the labor market and the availability of funds from the appointing authority. This position is contingent upon funding.
