Job Summary:

The Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology at the Penn State College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and inclusive research environment, contributing to the understanding of membrane transport mechanisms and regulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research in membrane transport, focusing on ion channels, transporters, and receptors connected to neurological disorders, metabolic diseases, and cancer.
  • Apply interdisciplinary approaches to investigate the structure, dynamics, function, and pharmacology of membrane proteins in situ and in vitro.
  • Collaborate with a diverse and vibrant community of scientists and health professionals to advance knowledge in the field.
  • Develop and implement novel experimental approaches to study membrane transport mechanisms.
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences and publish papers in top-tier scientific journals.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, biophysics, neuroscience, molecular genetics, cell biology, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Strong track record of productivity and a passion for discovery.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
