Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular microbiology and a proven track record of conducting rigorous and original scientific research.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments to investigate mechanisms used by symbiotic and pathogenic intracellular bacteria to maintain cellular homeostasis and interact with their eukaryotic host-cells.
  • Participate in the writing of research manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
  • Supervise and train graduate trainees and/or technicians.

Requirements:

  • PhD with training in biochemistry, cell biology, and/or bacteriology.
  • Demonstration of scientific productivity in the form of peer-reviewed publication(s).

  • Salary is based on NIH Postdoctoral Stipend levels and will vary based on levels of experience.
