Job Summary

Under the direction of the Clinical Director, Nurse Leader or designee, the professional licensed registered nurse provides patient centric, after-hours phone and/or telehealth support for all Atrius pediatric patients and their caregivers.

This position is responsible for effective triage, acuity leveling, age-appropriate nursing care/education, and disposition management for pediatric patients within the primary care, and limited specialty service lines.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process and adhere to current standards of nursing practice.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with all entities involved in the care of the patient to promote safe and high-quality care.
  • Practice critical decision-making using evidence-based nursing practice.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Possess a current RN license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Experience

Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care within an acute care or primary care setting. Experience with an electronic medical records system required.

Skills
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and patient interviewing skills.
  • Remote work includes strong comfort level working independently with technology proficiency.
  • Proficient ability to interpret clinical information, assess the effectiveness of treatment, identify actual and/or potential acute changes, develop, and implement a plan of care.
